Tips for Touring Homes | Monday Minute

4 quick tips before touring homes.Touring homes can be a lot of fun. So much so, there are literally shows solely based on that...and you’ve probably watched your fair share of them, too.  I know I have.  But like most things, going in with a plan can really make the difference from feeling frustrated to feeling like you are on your own episode of house hunters.#1. Before any showings, make sure to review your list of wants and needs and always keep in mind your overall budget.  This also starts from the beginning when you choose what homes you want to see.  There are items you are willing to compromise, and others you are not.  By sticking to those lists, you will set yourself up for more successful showings and ultimately in finding the right home. #2 Location.  It's the number factor when it comes to real estate. And it's something you can not change. This is one that should also be on your needs list, but I wanted to bring it up as its own point as it's often one of the first items people change when they haven’t found “the home” right away.  Sometimes you may be flexible on where you would like to live, but if not, this is one factor to always make sure fits your needs.#3 There are a lot of the pictures on the MLS that might have missed particular aspects of the home, and it’s hard to remember each home you tour, especially if viewing more than 1 in the same day. Take pictures and videos, that way you have something to go back and look over afterwards.#4 Take your time.  If you get that great first impression from a home, don’t rush out. I always tell people, you’ll know when you have walked into the right home, there’s a feeling of just being home.If you are interested in purchasing a home, we would love to help you!  Give us a call.  We look forward to helping you!
